The Macau Federation of Trade Unions

The Macau Federation of Trade Unions (MFTU) was established on 20 January 1950 by 12 unions of different industries. The primary objective of the Association is “to promote patriotic unity, fighting for the rights and interests of union workers and to serve the society”.

Since 1984, the Association has sent representatives to participate in the elections of the Macau Legislative Assembly. It currently has 43 sector trade unions with more than 50,000 members. There are 73 directly affiliated members, including eight unions in the construction, manufacturing, service, commercial, transportation, gaming, office workers and civil service sectors.
